BISHOUNEN SPOTLIGHT
KANAME KURAN
And finally I rise from the dead after not updating for so long! Really sorry about that! Exams are coming up so my time is slowly being used up~
I begin my comeback with one of my favorite topics, BISHOUNEN. Gawd, I don't even know where to begin with this fandom of mine. But who cares! We're talking about super hot anime bishies here! What exactly is the bishounen spotlight for? Easy, FANDOM FOR THE BISHIES! Onwards to the fandom!
Today's spotlight belongs to the ever alluring Kaname Kuran from Vampire Knight. First, let's start off with something basic about this pureblood prince ♥
Kaname Kuran (玖蘭 枢 Kuran Kaname) is a Pureblood vampire and Head of the Kuran family, one of the seven remaining Pureblood families. He is also one of the progenitors of the Vampires and the first Kuran, making his estimated age over 10,000 years old. He is one of the main protagonists. (Source: VK Wikia)
Oh glob, I don't even know where to begin! I fell in love with this character the moment I saw him in the anime. As I finished the series and continued on with the manga, I definitely realized one thing. MISCONCEPTIONS.
Where should I begin with all the misconceptions with this gorgeous vampire? Well first misconception, HE AIN'T EVIL. For the love of--- I am sick and tired of biased comments stating that Kaname was evil from the start and he planned everything all along. CORRECTION, it was the purebloods fault when they started becoming greedy with power. Second, WHAT IS WITH THE "HE DOESN'T DESERVE YUUKI" HOOBLAHPALOOZA? Sorry to burst your bubble, but Kaname deserves Yuuki just as much as Zero does! YES ZERO FANS, ACCEPT THAT FACT AND MOVE ON. All I see are comments stating that Zero deserves Yuuki more because of his past and all those shenanigans. Hello? You think Zero had it hard? Kaname had it 100x harder! And I'm not saying that because I'm a Kaname fan, if you took time to look into his story and not be biased about him you would have realized that this guy had a lot more to take in, rather than all the typical tragedies Zero faced. Yes, I will defend this bishie because he deserves to be defended from all the biased shiz that keeps lurking around. Let's compare the two shall we~
Zero:
*Parents were killed
*Teacher lost an eye protecting him from a level E vampire
*Was turned into a vampire against his will
*Had to survive with blood tablets
*Not in good terms with his twin brother (Ichiru)
*Was raised by Chairman Cross
*Had an adoptive family that took him in
*Grew up with Yuuki
*Fed on Yuuki's blood
Kaname:
*Had to see his lover sacrifice herself to create anti-vampire weapons (while he was still the ancestor)
*Father killed by Rido (Haruka)
*Mother committed suicide to suppress his sister's memories (Juuri)
*Left his sister under Chairman Cross' care
*Was raised and used as a tool by the vampire council
*Watched Yuuki grow up with an image as her "savior" and "upperclassman"
*Starved himself for 10 years (because only Yuuki could quench the thirst)
*Did everything and anything to keep Yuuki safe and happy. Even if it meant him continuing being sad and lonely.
So tell me. HOW THE HELL DOES THIS MAKE KANAME UNWORTHY FOR YUUKI'S LOVE? As you can see he already saw his lover die and leave him before, I don't think any sane person would want that kind of scenario happening again. Sorry to burst your bubble particular (yes, not all) Zero fans, but this pureblood prince has been through a lot more tragedies and hardships than you give him credit for.
Sure we see Zero running off to Yuuki's rescue when she's in trouble. But did he go to Kaname's extent? Killing his own kind not only for peace but for Yuuki as well. Accepting being labelled as a murderer and traitor by the vampire society. He went against his own people for sugar's sake! He betrayed the trust of his allies just to keep Yuuki safe and to stop the foolishness of the other purebloods! AND THERE'S NO WAY IN HELL AM I LISTENING TO BIASED ARGUMENTS ABOUT IT.
Honestly Zero fans I feel you, I get where you're coming from with Zero and stuff. It's the same with us Kaname fans too. But that doesn't give you any right to be all negative with Kaname, just as don't have the right to be negative with Zero. I don't like Zero nor do I hate him, I think he's a pretty cool guy to be honest. Girls like his type then good news for them, but for me; it was Kaname who took it home. I have seen a lot of fan comments posted out of biased ideas and just very close-mindedness. Be open with this vampire prince, he's not as bad as you think he is.

My glob this man needs more LOVE. Shower him with it! I mean come on, character design-wise he's gorgeous! Did I mention I have a thing for people with long hair? go figure ei? Sure, Kaname has his own ways of handling a situation and sometimes they may become a little bit mean. But he knows and has a reason for doing so. It's not a "in the moment" kind of thing, it's a "think before you act and list the possible outcomes in detail" kind of thing. Kaname Kuran is a bishounen I forever love and hold a special bond too. I'm very glad Hino Matsuri made a character as wonderful as him! He may have the haters, but meh. His supporters are just here to fight right back! I'm serious though, KEEP AN OPEN MIND WITH THIS CHARACTER.
He has received too many biased judgement as it is, the guy deserves a break don't you think? I believe you can fully realize and see how wonderful Kaname is when you take time to look at him. And I mean really REALLY look at him. Because a guy like him might just surprise you (the AWESOME kind of surprise)
