League of Legends Discussion
Hello to my fellow summoners, after getting enough motivation to post on my LoL category; here I am with a hero review. Before anything else I want you guys to keep in mind that THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION. I mean, all of us have our own feelings for each hero right? So our ideas may not always get along, but please keep an open-mind as you read my thoughts.
Also I'm often very lazy to type in the whole word so you'll encounter a few initials. (just research them XD)
So I recently decided to buy a new female hero to add into my collection of LoL ladies that I own. I'd like to present the new lady in my collection which is no other than:
Quinn
Demacia's Wings
Okay where to start on this? Well before I actually decided to buy her, I was a bit hesitant. Practically I labelled Quinn as another "Nidalee" when I first heard about her SS; though I took that back when I realized that her SS worked differently from Nidalee's.
First Impression: (Did not use her yet)
- After checking out her skill set and lore I immediately took interest in Quinn. Though I was hesitant since I felt as though I would have a hard time learning her combo, since her skill set is like... really not the usual ADR set. First I thought she would be a difficult character to master, but as I watched her character spotlight; she seemed easy enough.
Appearance:
-No argument on Quinn's appearance and character design. I honestly like it, since it reminds me of Leona for some reason (maybe because of her armor). I honestly love how they maintained the Demacian feel for Quinn's design, totally spot on! \m/
Phoenix Skin:
- I honestly LOVE this skin. The splash art looks hella epic and the in-game model definitely gave justice to the skin. I'm really one of those players who are very picky with the skins that they buy, I usually do NOT buy skins that look horrible in-game. I usually watch the skin spotlight before I consider buying any new skin being released.
Hero Review
Okay so it's time for serious business. As I got to use Quinn in-game, here are my thoughts about her.
Damage
- Okay... HER DAMAGE RATE IS HORRIBLE IN THE EARLY GAME. Even if you put flat AD runes on her, plus the AD masteries she still has a weak damage percentage. I honestly got frustrated on how low her damage is, it was really hard to harass and kill enemies during the early part of the game. I had to constantly tower hug with my support because of it.
What I really do not like is when I rely on my support to back me up. I have used Miss Fortune, Caitlyn and Vayne several times already, and these ladies can stand on their own with or without a support. For Quinn, she needs HEAVY babysitting. Like I swear, you cannot easily gain damage for this girl even if you already reach mid-game. It takes around almost late game for Quinn to get fed enough to have decent damage. But sometimes, even if she already has items her damage is still weak. Comparing her with Miss Fortune, MF has more damage when you equip her with BT while Quinn only has like what? 40% out of 100? I had my runes on flat AD, and it definitely did not help me get the desired damage I wanted. I honestly felt like it's so risky to build her as an AD carry, dominant of the time she needs assistance in killing an opponent (and surviving afterwards).
Defense
-Quinn... IS LIKE A PIECE OF PAPER. I swear, not only does she have really weak damage but her defense just make things more complicated. She is so squishy, which I hate; and I'm not applying this just in the early game. Even when late games comes Quinn is still pretty squishy and can be easily targeted in a clash . What makes her hard to build is due to the fact you will choose to either build her damage completely, or sacrifice half of it for health and defense items. Usually when I use my mages (since they're usually squishy) I get 1 item for health and the rest are for damage and etc, but as I tried it for Quinn; it was really hard to balance and decide which items to forge first.
Skills
Passive- I find her passive pretty useful, the extra damage helps in gaining kills.
Blinding Assault (Q) - Useful because of the blind, but the damage dealt is pretty small
Heightened Senses (W) - I find this useful because of the free sight. Makes it easier for Quinn to be depended and no longer needs to rely on the wards. For the passive it has, amen for extra attack speed.
Vault (E) - Thumbs up for this because of the damage plus slow.
Tag Team (R) - Really good when rushing to a clash, since the SS works like Nidalee's, you practically can use Valor as extra damage before switching back to Quinn for the final strike.
Skystrike (R) - lesser the life = bigger the damage. Enough said on that.
Gameplay
-Okay, I'm so-so in using Quinn. I do not get excited whenever a clash begins or if an enemy is about to die unlike whenever I use the other female ADRs. Main reason: I know I'll easily die in the clash. I swear, the only damange Quinn can possibly offer in the clash is Skystrike. For her to be directly an AD carry, she'd probably just hit an enemy a few times and the rest of her teammates will finish the rest. During my experience, I had the items of an AD carry, but I had the score of a support. Biggest insult in my ADR life LOL.
Combo-wise, learning Quinn's combo isn't as hard as I thought it was. It's pretty easy to master since it usually starts off with E then Q then R. Though to be able to completely use the skills to the fullest, you're going to have to learn how to get the right timing. As I ranted above, Quinn has horrible damage levels, so it takes a while for you to harass your enemy enough for you to dive in there and kill them.
Overall Thoughts
I do not recommend Quinn for new players. For you to be able to master a character as challenging as her, you're going to need a lot of game and hero experience.
She's better off as a support. As much as her skills are badass and totally awesome, Quinn just can't carry a game for me. She makes a great support though, which is pretty useful and handy for a team.
She deserves better stats. Why make such a lovely hero and just give her lameass stats? I hate that she has low damage and I hate the fact she's too squishy. Riot better fix her and balance everything out >_>
She has a lot of potential. This woman, has too much potential to just leave her the way she is now. I literally hope Riot will do something about it and hopefully buff Quinn. I'd be damned if they decide to nerf her instead.
That ends my discussion with Quinn. Have a nice day summoners!
