AMNESIA
Anime Review
Hello everyone!
It's been one heck of a new year and of course I'd like to take this chance to start my reviews! I was suppose to do this last year, but I decided to wait for the release of the new animes I've been excited to watch. For the most part, I haven't posted any new blog entries recently, so what better way to start off my new year with an anime review?
Alright, let's get this review started!
Before anything else, PLEASE KEEP NEGATIVE COMMENTS TO YOURSELVES. As much as I want to read on your own opinion of the anime, I'd prefer keeping this review POSITIVE. So if you don't like this anime and you disagree to my review, please just leave the post
Episode 1
"Amnesia"
Honestly speaking I'm very happy on how this anime adaptation turned out. I have seen and tried the gameplay of Amnesia, and to see one of my favorite otome games turned into an anime is definitely a big dream come true! As I got into the few seconds of the anime, I immediately knew that it was going to be another anime I'll definitely be looking forward to.
Let's take this time to enlighten you otakus who don't know the story line of this ever famous reverse harem anime. Here's a brief summary that I personally wrote out of my understanding of Amnesia's story line.
"Amnesia is an anime wherein the heroine wakes up one day not knowing who she is. She has suffered complete Amnesia and can only remember happenings after August 1st. A spirit called "Orion" reveals himself to the heroine, explaining he was the cause of her memory loss and that he was determined to get them back for her. But there was a catch, if the heroine fails to remember or gain back her memories, she will die. The only way for her to regain her memories is to interact with people who might have been significant to her life or her past experiences. Orion becomes the heroine's guardian and guides the heroine in their quest to regain her memories. "
Characters
The Heroine
Okay, as I read several other reviews about Amnesia, I have encountered a lot of reviews how they find the heroine "boring". She's probably one of the heroines who has received a lot of negative feedback. In my honest opinion, I find her intriguing! Sure, she's soft-spoken and a bit on the shy side; but that doesn't give us the right to immediately judge her and degrade her possible character development as the anime progresses. As far as episode 1 goes, she remains to be nameless. Which is a first, since dominant of the otome games that were adapted into anime had a default name for the heroine. She can either be named on further episodes or will have no name and will remain as "heroine". Although I think that would be fun, since you would get the freedom to pick a name for her if you wanted to.
In the first episode, the heroine clearly was at a state of panic and confusion. I mean, who wouldn't feel that way? You just lost all your memories and the only ones you can remember are the ones dated from August 1st and onward. As the episode goes on, she's very bashful and easily gets flustered. Her self-esteem is a bit low and she easily gets nervous. Although, even with those kind of traits, she's a character who has a lot of potential of growing. To be honest, I think I love the heroine because of her personality. I like the fact that she seems to be different and unique in her own special way. Even though not many can see that, I strongly believe she's a heroine worth liking and worth supporting.

Shin- Now this guy is the first bishie you get to see. As far as the episode goes, it depicts that Shin has a close relationship with the heroine. I can't really say much about his personality as of the moment, although from what I saw in episode 1; he seems to care deeply about the heroine. I could say he's a character that worries about someone important to him and that he's willing to go through certain extents to make sure that person is safe and well. Apparently, he seems to have a good relationship with Toma. I'm guessing they must have been childhood friends.I'm hoping to see more development in future episodes. His suit is the Heart.
Toma- The moment I saw Toma, I immediately thought "he's going to be the friend-zone guy." Haha! I couldn't help it, usually the bishies that look like him; end up being the ones being friend-zoned. But putting that aside, Toma possesses a very strong personality. The kind you'd usually see in a big brother figure or a very close childhood friend. In the first episode, he is seen with Shin, checking up on the heroine. Apparently he seems to have a sort of "laid back" attitude, though he appears to be reliable and someone you can count on. He's a worrywart, I can give you that. I'm very curious on what other personalities Toma will show as the anime progresses! His suit is the Diamond.

Kent- First impression of this guy, he sort of frightened me bahaha! Though, he's one of the bishies that I have respect for. Kent plays the cool and serious guy in the anime on my opinion. You get to see him in the staff room, with the heroine trying to explain herself. He's very frank and immediately goes to the point without any other unnecessary add-on. But beneath his very fierce character, I can see the softness within him. I'm practically confident that all of you would realize he has a soft-spot for the heroine. I highly doubt you could miss that. Kent is probably the "no nonsense" kind of guy, but then again I could be wrong. It's just the first episode anyway haha! He has a lot of development to do! His suit is the Clover.

Episode Review
Let's have an events overview:
• The anime begins when the heroine tries to escape a burning building. After that, the heroine wakes up with her memories lost.
• She meets Orion, a spirit only she can hear and see.
• Orion explains that the heroine lost all her memories except the ones dating August 1st and onwards. He also admits that he was the one that caused her to lose her memories.
• The main male protagonists are introduced and presented.
• It is revealed that the heroine works in a cafe, alongside Shin, Ikki, Kent and Toma. The episode depicts the heroine's day to day life before she lost her memories.
• Through certain encounters, the heroine slowly regains parts of her memory.
• Near the ending of the episode, the heroine is ganged up by three girls who dislike her because of Ikki's special affection towards her. Which causes her to faint as she remembers a not too nice encounter with the three girls.
-end of overview-
Watching the first episode of the series was definitely DRAMATIC. Like I swear, the impact was definitely big on my part. I liked how the episode began with the burning building, and how intense it was before the whole episode began. My overall reaction to this episode is, it's just an introduction episode :D ♥
As most of you have seen, the episode introduces the main characters and other possible characters that will appear in further episodes. It also explains the story line of the anime and presents the initial goal of the heroine. For now, I believe Amnesia has brought a good start for itself. I honestly couldn't get over the massive cliff hanger at the end! I was already at the edge of my seat ranting and bashing the three girls who were about to do something to the heroine. But then the episode stopped when she fainted from panic and fear. Overall, I'm pretty excited to see the next episode! I'm hoping to see more character development and maybe hint a few romances here and there. It's a reverse harem/otome game right? Haha! I'm rooting for Ikki and Shin. Though I won't take it against you guys if you like Toma, Waka or Kent more x)
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ANIME
Mostly to those who are interested in reverse harem, romance and psychological
Also to those of you who are BISHIE LOVERS and otome fans
I hope you guys enjoyed reading my review! To episode 2!
xoxo,
Nana
