KAITO is a Japanese male Vocaloid created by Crypton Future Media. He utilizes the older Vocaloid engine developed by YAMAHA. He claims the spot of the last vocal to be released for the 1st Vocaloid engine series and is the first Japanese male Vocaloid to have appeared from Crypton Future Media. The voice was supplied by a Japanese male singer Fuga Naoto (風雅 なおと). The illustration was done by Takashi Kawasaki.

Let’s take this time to reminiscent one of KANAME’s most well recognized cosplay during his career. KAITO, one of the vocalists from the VOCALOID series has been a big hit with a lot of fans worldwide, and the Japanese cosplayer KANAME wasn’t too far away from gaining his fan’s admiration for his portrayal of the character. Before we compare, why don’t we talk more about the famous ice cream-loving vocaloid Kaito?

He is recognized as one of the first generation vocaloids ever released by Crypton, alongside MEIKO. Kaito is very much depicted as a happy-go-lucky character and has a collection of songs starting from the pop genre slowly going to a more darker genre. Kaito’s design depicts his character color to be blue, where he wears a long sleeved coat, brown pants, white shoes and his signature blue scarf. He often acts like the big brother figure among the vocaloids and of course shows a lot of his goofy sides in his songs.

Personal Review:  We have seen a lot of photos of KANAME ☆ portraying this ever lovable vocaloid, and until the present, Kaname has never failed to bring this sweet yet goofy vocaloid to life! In his albums, Kaname has cosplayed Kaito in both his default attire and casual attire. With his cosplay becoming a big impact to various vocaloid fans, Kaito has been one of the most memorable cosplays done by Kaname.

Personally, I have not seen Kaname-san face-to-face portraying Kaito, so I can’t put a review on how he roleplays as the character. Although, we can always see how he did his best to be accurate with his cosplay!

In my opinion, Kaname is one of the few cosplayers who actually resemble Kaito if he was turned human. From his eyes, to his hair and even to his appearance, I can really say that Kaname is like a living Kaito! Kaname has shown great accuracy in Kaito’s default attire. One big thing that was accurate was the color. We can all admit we have seen various vocaloid cosplays and sometimes the fabric used isn’t exactly the color as its suppose to be. Being a big fan of vocaloid myself, I can freely say that if the color of their attire isn’t right, it just doesn’t draw me in. Another is how the costume was made, how accurately it was made to copy the original design. In a long run, whoever made Kaname’s costume was definitely someone worth praising! From the base to the details, Kaname’s cosplay of Kaito’s default attire was definitely amazing! The littlest detail can make a huge difference, and what’s a vocaloid without their microphone? Some cosplayers forget to wear Kaito’s microphone in their cosplays, but it’s great to see that Kaname-san didn’t forget that tiny detail!

To all KANAME☆ supporters, I can pretty much understand if you all take Kaname as your own “real life Kaito” because to be honest, he might as well be!
