Tama's Wonderland Cafe 2013

Hello everyone!

The most slowest blog writer in the entire world is finally back with a new entry! So pretty much I've become very busy lately due to my studies and sad to say I don't have enough time to make new entries at the moment. But nonetheless, I still try to steal a few minutes on the computer for glorious internet. (/ ̄(エ) ̄)/

Last June 8, 2013,  I had the chance to experience what it's like being a server in a cosplay cafe! Not only that, but it was also my group's first cafe ever!

Are you ready to go to Wonderland? So pretty much this was a make or break it moment for the Tako Mako Team since this was our first event after all. But I am pleased to tell you IT WAS A HUGE SUCCES!

Speaking of which, it's time to spam you all with photos and super long text! ヽ( ̄(エ) ̄)ノ

Cosplay Discussions: Wanting To Share Thoughts

Cosplay Discussions

Wanting To Share Thoughts

Okay, so this is one of my serious entries that involves me just typing down and no longer adding photos and etc. You're probably thinking what I want to discuss here, well it's obviously about cosplay. Recently I have seen a lot of posts and entries from fellow bloggers, facebook users and other online sites that share and give their stand on the numerous rising issues in the cosplay community. One of the issues that hasn't died down until now is how the hobby "Cosplay" is really understood and interpreted. I have seen a lot of cosplayers trying to explain and show how the hobby should really be done, but sometimes that really isn't enough.

For the other issues, I'll probably dive into them as well. I want to make it clear that these are just my observations and my opinions. You can either agree or disagree with me, but either way I am not on any side. I just want to share my thoughts about this because I've been wanting to express myself for a while now. So, if you do not wish to continue reading, you may browse through my other entries instead. :)

Cosplay Articles: Head Feline Tasha

The Head Feline Tasha
Article by NANABI

"They will fear the wild..." - Nidalee

League of Legends has been a big hit in the gaming world recently, and of course the cosplayers refuse to be left behind. Being a LoL player myself, I give my utmost respect to  the cosplayers who give justice to the many heroes I adore and use in the game. Of course, I didn't have any second thoughts when I discovered a very talented lady from the lands of Korea.

This particular lady has amazed her fans with her detailed and intricate armor from a handful of her amazing cosplays. She has mesmerized both men and women with her beauty and never ceased to make everyone stop and stare at her breathe-taking photos.

TASHA  or also known as GO-EUN OH is a cosplayer reigning from the Republic of Korea who made a name for herself with her jaw dropping portrayals of numerous iconic female characters from several famous console and pc games. Unlike the regular list of cosplays most female cosplayers have, Tasha is one of those who concentrate on a genre; and for her, that genre is games. Tasha has a large number of cosplays everyone remembers her for, but one of the most memorable was her portrayal of Katarina and Nidalee, two well-known heroines of League of Legends. Another is her amazing portrayal of the Demon Hunter class from Diablo III In her anime side, Tasha presents the many attires of the famous Sheryl Nome of Macross Frontier, a diva who has played a big role in Tasha's career and became one of her signature cosplays.

Cosplay Articles: A True Prince of Cosplay

A True "Prince" of Cosplay
Article by NANABI

Crossplay has always been a popular genre for both male and female cosplayers around the world. For most people, crossplay always brings this single thought, "Is this a boy or a girl?". We can't deny it, there are numerous cosplayers who have mastered the art of crossplay and they never failed to confuse the community with their genders. Sometimes we ask ourselves "How do they do it?" honestly speaking we might never know the answer. We can always say it's their genes, make-up, their face and other possible reasons explaining how these cosplayers shift from one gender to the opposite. But one thing's for sure, they're definitely good in their cosplay forte.

One crossplayer in particular has been the center of attention in the cosplay community today. This crossplayer has been invited to numerous cosplay events all over the world as well and has never once failed to make her fans swoon at her presence.

REIKA is a female crossplayer from Japan who dominated the world cosplay charts with her amazing portrayals of numerous iconic male characters from several well-known animes. Not only did she amaze her fans online with her photos, but she brought the fandom of her fans to a whole new level with her charming personality. One of Reika's most well recognized crossplays is her portrayal of the famous womanizer Jinguji Ren of Uta No Prince-sama. Cosplay Articles: A Nobody's Inspiration

A Nobody's Inspiration
Article by NANABI

Where does inspiration come from? Anyone would usually tell you inspiration comes from places, things, events and even other people. Inspiration plays a big role to numerous writers, artists, designers and etc. Without this so called "inspiration" all the most admired works would cease to exist wouldn't they? Just as the common quote dictates, "Inspiration comes from the most unexpected places."

Well it definitely does, in the world of cosplay, you can take inspiration even from the most littlest things. For otakus, we usually find inspiration from anything that reminds us of a character, a place, an anime, a famous mangaka and so much more. When one remembers something or someone from a single item, it usually fuels up our desire to draw, write, photograph or cosplay.  Although in this article, I'll share to you something special about inspiration.

Can you remember your first event? The first character you ever cosplayed? But most of all, can you remember who motivated you to join the alien world of cosplay? I for one, can clearly remember who brought me into this interesting world.

Tako Mako Team

This section is going to be all about one of the active groups I'm participating. Tako Mako is just a little group from the Philippines that started roughly, just a year ago. The group is basically composed of close friends who share the same common interests and decided to just one day make a live action. With the creation of their first live action, the team was basically formed out of the two day shoot they had. Pretty much, a lot of my friends in the group are random and just crazy. (LIKE ME 8D)

Alright, so the team was officially formed on June 3, 2011. We've been moving forward since then and have been continuing our journey. I can say that the team didn't start out with happy pasts, but the past has been overshadowed by success and new memorable experiences.  All in all the original members of Tako Mako are only made up of a total of 6 people. But as time progresses, the TM family is slowly growing as well.
